Kindergartners have been learning how early Native Americans met their basic needs for survival through read alouds in CKLA. On November 25th they had the opportunity to meet a real American Indian who shared Native American traditions, clothing, musical instruments, and tools with them. Students were able to observe items closely and even touch them. This hands-on learning with authentic artifacts helps make abstract ideas tangible and memorable, deepens understanding, and sparks curiosity beyond the traditional classroom. We are grateful to have the Nebo American Indian Education Program in our district.
