Apple Valley presents at District Board meeting

Apple Valley had the opportunity to present at the District's school board meeting this week. Several student council members and their siblings attended to present on Student Council and on our school's Robotics Club.

They first shared with the board several of the things that student council has been able to participate in already this year. They shared about attending the BYU Leadership Conference where learned that Leadership is Love, and that Leaders are positive, encouraging, helpful and inclusive. As a council, we chose S.C.I. (which means Smile, Compliment, and Invite) as our goal for the year. Each of us try to do at least one of these actions every day. In Dec, they collected food, clothing, and toys for 12 local families and the District Pantry.

Student council members then presented on this years Robotics Club. Robotics Club was held for an hour once a week for five weeks. They learned how to control the moves of mouse robots, how to draw color code to instruct smaller color robots to follow a line, and how to use the Dot app to write the correct code to get the larger Dash robots to do what they instructed them to do. They then demonstrated each of these robots for those present at the meeting.

Student council did a wonderful job presenting and we are so proud of how well they represented Apple Valley!
