First grade celebrated having respectful behavior at the end of term 3 with a glow stick party! These kids worked hard to respect other kids and teachers and get their schoolwork done. They definitely earned a celebration with glow sticks, music, and balloons.

It’s always inspiring to see older students take the initiative to support younger or new students! These moments of mentorship, kindness, and guidance create a welcoming and inclusive school community. Whether it’s helping with schoolwork, offering advice, or simply being a friendly face, their leadership makes a lasting impact. Let’s continue encouraging a culture where students lift each other up and grow together! #StudentsHelpingStudents #MentorshipMatters #LeadershipInAction

Take a look at our sound wall! In speech, we’re focusing on mastering sounds and strengthening communication skills. This visual tool helps students connect letters to sounds, making it easier to recognize, produce, and practice them in words. Whether working on articulation, phonological awareness, or speech clarity, the sound wall supports learning every step of the way. Students love using it to track their progress and build confidence in their speech!

In speech we have been using these picture boards, paired with mini toys, to target the speech and language needs for our students. These are great objects to use in speech because the students love playing with these toys and the SLP's are able to strategically target the individual needs of students in a more play-based context!

Fourth grade is learning about the American Revolution! Mrs. Young's class visited the Wall of Freedom gallery to explore the artwork and important historical documents that shape our history. If you walk by their classroom, you might hear students calling out, "No taxation without representation!"—their new class attention signal.

Last week we celebrated "It's COOL to CARE" week here at Meadow Brook! Each day the students made an active effort to reach out and express kindness to someone else. It was incredible to watch our students smile, laugh and serve one another! We think it's COOL to CARE everyday and we hope our Mustang family keeps it up as we continue through our school year!

Fifth grade walked to Spring Canyon Middle School this week to learn more about sixth grade and get a tour of the school. They were excited to learn what classes they can choose, to see the big library, to run around the track in the gym, and to have lockers and vending machines available to them next year. We will be sad to see our awesome fifth graders leave Meadow Brook, but are excited for what the future holds for them! #OnceAMustangAlwaysAMustang
