Tonight is our annual Movie Night under the stars. Free admission, concessions start at 7 pm. Canyon Pizza Co will be selling 8 inch pepperoni or cheese pizzas for only $5. PTA will have other concession items for sale.
Student council members Mackley and Hazel interviewed Nicole Ekins for the Faculty Spotlight. Mrs Ekins is an intervention specialist at Apple Valley and enjoys camping, hiking, and reading. Her favorite book is Goose Girl. Mrs Ekins grew up in Morgan, UT and her favorite trip was to Scotland. She loves Reba McEntire and Forrest Frank. She is going to school still and has a motorcycle. When she was little, she got ran over.
Student council members Owen and Kai chose to interview Mrs Brink for the Faculty Spotlight. Mrs Brink is one of our wonderful first grade teachers. She loves to bake pies and go hiking. Her favorite book is Jane Eyre and her best vacation was to Paris. Mrs Brink grew up in Provo and loves listening to Josh Groban. She has 6 kids and 2 grandkids. She got remarried over the summer. Mrs Brink loves the ocean and chocolate.

Friday Spirit day at Apple Valley
We have an incredibly rare opportunity to participate in the 9/11 Remembrance Event being held at the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds. This is not just for students, it is for all our families. Please take some time today , Thursday, September 11th through Saturday, September 13th from 9 am to 9 pm to attend this wonderful event. Nebo District is offering a mental health screener for students on the evening of September 29, 2025, at Diamond Fork Middle School from 4 pm to 8 pm. We will be using Terrace Metrics software to measure mental and emotional strengths, as well as screen for anxiety, depression, trauma, and suicidal ideation of students in grades 6-12. Students in grades 3-5 may participate to be screened for mental and emotional strengths, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
If you would like to participate please sign up here for an appointment. The assessment tool takes an average of 15 minutes to complete. Afterward, you and your student will meet with a school counselor or social worker to discuss the results of the assessment and receive resources as needed.

Prior to taking the mental health screener, a consent form needs to be completed by the parent/guardian. The consent form will be available upon arrival at the screener event.

Tabitha's Way Local Food Pantry in Spanish Fork is hosting its 14th Annual Gear Up for School Event where we will be handing out 1,200 free backpacks full of school supplies to families in need as well as free resources and a free lunch to all children who attend the event.
This event will be held on July 26, 2025, at Riverview Elementary School at 628 S West Park Dr, Spanish Fork, from 9 - 11 am.
We would love to have as many people as possible to attend this event who are in need of help this coming school year.

The "Communities That Care Coalition" in the Payson area is offering a free pool activity for families on June 10

Nebo is partnering with the Utah Food Bank again this year to provide free summer meals in four of Nebo School District communities. Fresh and free summer meals will be offered every Monday through Friday.
